Pharmacological action research
on Anticancer of China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid Research has identified that "CHINA NO. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" has a significant inhibition on mice S120, "Ais" solid carcinoma, Lewis lung cancer, proventriculus scute cancer and living nude mouse human intestine mucinous adenocarcinoma. Antineoplastic action of "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" Experiment with animal : Mice used are from Kunmin, provided by units such as the Tianjin Medical College, Consisting both male and female, weighing between 18 ~ 22g. Nude mice were provided by Beijing Institute of Organism Inspection, male weights between 20 ~ 27g, the background of nude mice is BALB/C-nu/nu and the heredity background is NIH. Tumor strain : Mouse sarcoma S180, "Ais" solid and ascites carcinoma, mouse proventriculus scute cancer, Lewis lung cancer, mouse leukemia L1210. Human intestine mucinous adenocarcinoma : Introduced by pathologic anatomy teaching and research section of Beijing Medical College, grafted in the subcutaneous layer of the back of the nude mouse as a model. Medicine : "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" provided by Tong Hua Chang Bai Shan Institute of Medicine, Jilin Province, an oral administration Liquid of traditional Chinese medicine. Experimental Method : An ordinary screening method for tumor strain according to the procedure regulated by the National Anticancer Medicine Conference 1978. The results are shown in Table 1. The human cancer inhibition experiment was proceeded according to following the procedures. First, let the steriled operating bench ventilate for over half an hour, place the mouse cage (equipped with bacterial filter) onto the operating bench after sterilizing it twice with 75% alcohol. Put the tumor source nude mouse to death by pulling its cervical vertebrae. Remove tumor tissue and cut it into small pieces of 0.3 ~ 0.4 mm in size. Vaccinate tumor tissue into the subcutaneous layer of the back of each mouse with #7 puncture needle. After vaccinating the human tumor tissue for 30 days, choose 24 nude mice with similar size tumor and divide them into 4 groups, that is : the Control Group, "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" Group, 5FU Group, and SJAMP Group. Of which, the Control Group consisted of 9 mice and 5 mice for the rest of the groups. Before treatment, the Control Group has an average tumor diameter (longitudinal diameter + transverse diameter /2) of 8.10 mm, the "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" Group has an average tumor diameter of 8.6 mm. The therapeutic dose of "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" is 2.5 ml/kg, gavaged once a day for 21 days. Put all the animals of each group to death 24 hours after the last administration. Cut out the tumors and weigh them, and weigh each mouse too. Calculate the inhibition rate based on the following formula. Tumor Inhibition rate % = [(Average tumor weight of control group Average tumor weight of treated group) / Average tumor weight of control group] * 100% Result of experiment : Among the 6 spectra of tumor used, we have discovered that "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" has better effect for solid tumor especially for proventriculus scute cancer, but is ineffective for leukemia and ascitic type tumor. The results are shown in Table 1.

From table 2, it is clear the "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" has definite therapeutic action on human intestine mucinous adenocarcinoma. Although the animals weight has somewhat decreased, so have the ones in the control group. All the animals are still surviving, which indicated that taking the medicine continuously for 21 days under that dosage, there is no toxic reaction in the animals. Summarizing the experimental results on animal tumor and human cancer, indicated that "China No. 1 Tian Xian Liquid" has noticible effect on digestive system tumor and lung cancer. Go back to TOP.
